CUSA 2025/2026 Leaders Sworn In as FHSS Dean Welcomes New Faculty Representative

Chuka University marked a smooth and peaceful transition of student leadership as the newly elected 2025/2026 Chuka University Students Association (CUSA) leaders were officially sworn in. The ceremony, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Mutembei, reinforced the institution’s commitment to democratic governance and student representation.

Among those taking the oath of office was Ben Geoffrey “Jakatoo,” who assumed the role of CUSA chairperson, leading a team dedicated to enhancing student welfare and inclusivity. The event also saw a special recognition from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), as Dean FHSS congratulated Brian Kibet, the newly elected Faculty Representative. Welcoming him to the faculty leadership, the Dean challenged Kibet to bring in fresh energy and motivation, emphasizing his crucial role in championing student events and addressing key issues affecting students.

Additionally, the Dean extended appreciation to Midmark Onsongo, the outgoing FHSS Faculty Representative and newly elected CUSA Treasurer. He commended Onsongo for his close collaboration with the faculty, acknowledging his contributions to student welfare and the overall growth of the faculty.

Prof. Mutembei applauded both the incoming and outgoing leaders for their dedication and urged the new office bearers to uphold integrity, accountability, and inclusivity in their service.
