FHSS Hosts Student Academic Advisory and Mentorship Forum

The Office of the Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), organized a Student Academic Advisory and Mentorship Forum aimed at strengthening academic performance, promoting student welfare, and enhancing timely completion of studies.

The forum brought together university management, faculty leaders, academic advisors, and students in an interactive engagement focused on key academic processes and challenges affecting learners. Participants were taken through critical areas including examination regulations, academic policies, graduation requirements, attachment procedures, and course completion status.

Special emphasis was placed on addressing issues such as missing marks, incomplete courses, deferment, sickness, bereavement, and students’ mental health. The sessions also highlighted the university’s support structures available to assist students in navigating academic and personal challenges.

A question-and-answer session provided students with an opportunity to directly engage faculty representatives and administrators, allowing for clarification and discussion on matters affecting their academic journey. The interactive engagement fostered open dialogue and strengthened collaboration between students and staff.

The initiative sought to promote shared responsibility, academic excellence, and a supportive learning environment, in line with the faculty’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates and achieving its academic mission.
