Chuka University Mentorship Forum Ignites Digital Dreams Among Chuka Boys Students

Students of Chuka Boys High School received a major boost in digital literacy and innovation on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, after the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences from Chuka University conducted a high-impact mentorship forum focused on ICT skills, artificial intelligence, digital content creation and cyber governance during a two-hour session held at the school from 3pm to 5pm.
The mentorship forum, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Kyalo Wa Ngula, brought together lecturers and experts from different academic fields who engaged students in transformative discussions on modern technology and media innovation. The event attracted the entire school population, with students keenly following presentations aimed at equipping them with practical digital skills relevant in today’s rapidly evolving technological world.
Among the key facilitators was Dr. Edna Too from the Faculty of Science and Technology, who trained students on graphic design for social media, mobile content creation tools and applications, as well as video editing skills. Her session exposed learners to modern techniques used in digital storytelling and online branding, with students being encouraged to embrace creativity and technology as powerful tools for communication and entrepreneurship.
Ms. Jane Mumbi also captivated the students through an engaging presentation on AI-powered content creation and monetization, where she highlighted how consistency and audience growth can help young creators build impactful digital platforms. Other facilitators including Mr. Seif Kinyori, Mr. Johana Mwangi, Mr. Moses Punyuah, Mr. Dennis Elvis and Mr. Benson Machogu took students through critical topics such as ethical issues in media and content creation, as well as cyber governance architecture and the legal frameworks guiding digital media use in Kenya.
The event was officially opened by the Chief Principal of Chuka Boys High School, Mr. Nelson Muriithi, who welcomed the Chuka University team and applauded the initiative for exposing students to emerging opportunities in the digital and media industry. He noted that such mentorship programs are vital in preparing learners for the demands of the modern world and empowering them to become responsible digital citizens.
As the forum came to a close, the school administration expressed gratitude to Professor Kyalo Wa Ngula and the entire faculty team for dedicating their time and expertise to mentor the students. Prof. Kyalo, in his closing remarks, thanked the students for their attentiveness and active participation, while encouraging them to consider Chuka University as their dream institution for higher learning and future career development.
